HST 225. History of Women, Sex, and the Family. 4 Credits.

Examines the historical and cultural variations in family life and sexuality in the 19th and 20th centuries in an international context (including the United States) through topics such as courtship, marriage, reproduction, violence, colonialism, homosexuality, and work. Prerequisite: (WR 115 and RD 115) or IRW 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement. Audit available. This course fulfills the following GE requirements: Cultural Literacy, Social Sciences/ASOT-B, Social Sciences/AAOT, Social Sciences/AS, Social Sciences/AAS, Social Sciences/AGS.
